A one-day Monotype Workshop in Kommetjie, Cape Town

Open to all – no previous experience necessary

Monotype is an intriguing and wonderfully explorative medium.

In this workshop, participants will be guided through a range of techniques that investigate the many possibilities of the monotype process, exploring additive and subtractive processes and using a variety of different tools, mark-making techniques and printing processes.

As the name suggests a monotype yields a
single unique print, typically painterly in effect. 
It invites the ‘cross pollination’ of other techniques –
such as drawing into, or
overprinting onto created imagery
– with often unexpected and alluring outcomes.

We will print by hand as well as on the press.
