The next course (JUNE)
will give you an introduction to intaglio printmaking,
with the focus on creating TONAL VALUES on a copper plate with AQUATINT ETCHING
ETCHING is an intaglio printmaking process.
The word ‘intaglio’ is derived from the Italian word intaglione,
meaning to engrave or cut.
This covers several techniques all involving the incision of drawings and designs
onto a metal plate using the process of acid biting, or ‘etching’.
IN THIS BEGINNERS ETCHING COURSE
YOU CAN LEARN HOW TO:
- create your image matrix (etching plate) using
- aquatint (tone) processes, as well as
- how to ink up and print your etching plate.
